Hebe Elegance Blue
The Elegance series of hebes are compact evergreen shrubs, ideal for hedging, feature planting, mixed flower beds and patio pots. Blue Elegance is a lovely gentle yet strong purple-blue, with long tapering flowerspikes that fade off to white at the base.
They'll grow in clay, sandy or chalky soils and are cold hardy too. Keep them out of drying winds and their abundant flowers will feed local pollinators throughout summer and into autumn.
Hebe LOWGEKO 'Blue Elegance'
APPEARANCE : Neat compact evergreen New Zealand shrub with firm waxy slender leaves and tapering flower clusters at the end of the stems from summer to autumn. Flowers are a strong shade of blue-purple.
USE FOR :Potted or garden feature shrub, low hedges, mixed flower beds, for pollinators.
PLANTING :Moist but well drained soil in sun or shade. Tolerates light frost, doesn't tolerate high heat.
CARE : Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Prune tips while young to encourage dense growth and fertilise in early spring and every other month through summer. Snip off dead flowerheads and lightly prune after flowering.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: 1-1.5m H x 1.1-5m W.
