Drought-tolerant Mediterranean shrub; the fine silver-grey leaves have an aroma similar to curry when crushed or in warm sunshine. It's grown for essential fragrance oils.

Small yellow flowers appear on mature plants in the warmer months; their longlasting qualities give the plant its other common name of 'immortelle' - the immortal.
