Like a tequila sunrise come to life, this fabulously flouncy tropical shrub lifts your spirits with blousy flowers shaded juicy tangerine to grenadine, right through the warmer months. 

Reports vary on the mature size of DJ  - in drier climates or grown in a pot, it might top out at a metre; in subtropical lush rainfall planted in the garden it could grow taller than you.

Hibiscus rosa-sinensis 'DJO'Brien'

APPEARANCE : Compact subtropical evergreen hibiscus with double flowers, large for the size of the plant, in warmer months. The flowers are loose and open, usually around 12-15cm across, peach deepening to hot pink in the centre.
USE FOR : Ideal for hedges, as a feature plant in your garden; large containers inside and out.
CLIMATE : Protect from frost. Enjoys humidity
PLANTING : Sunny sheltered position is ideal in the warmer parts of Australia.  Shelter from strong winds and exposed sites. Plant in a free draining soil rich in organic matter and not over wet. A potting mix rich with peat moss or humus is ideal added at the time of planting
CARE: Mulch and water well, prune and fertilise after flowering in spring.
MATURE HEIGHT & WIDTH:  1-2m H x 1-2m W.
YOUR PLANTS : These are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide.
