Hosta plantaginea 'Lakeside Paisley Print' - plantain lily
APPEARANCE: Mostly grown for their foliage, hostas are attractive herbaceous perennials with a range of leaf shape and form. This variety has broad pointed leaves with rippled margins and shades of green variegation in the centre. Pale lavender-purple flowers on tall stems from late spring.USE FOR : Cottage gardens, pots and containers, under trees in moist soils, in shady beds and borders.
PLANTING: Plant in a sheltered position, avoid direct sunlight. Will grow in deep shade but leaf colour may be slightly less strong. Happy in most moist well-drained soils; enrich soils before planting with plenty of organic matter. Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks, and water during growth.
CARE: Apply a slow release fertiliser during spring and a liquid based fertiliser every 2-4 weeks during growth to maintain plant health.
