A true Aussie Battler, native tick bush is tough as, laughing at Tassie cold and sunning it on Sydney beaches, and it provides great shelter for small mammals. It's really pretty in spring, covered in blossom, and smells good too!

Tick bush will bind banks and stabilise sand dunes; stand up to harsh winds and heavy rain; provide a buffet for passing pollinators; and even regenerate from seed after a fire. What more could you ask for?

Description

Kunzea ambigua prostrate form - tick bush

APPEARANCE : Native tickbush has small slender aromatic leaves and clusters of fringed white honey-scented flowers in spring. Variable in height and width.
ORIGIN : Found throughout TAS, VIC, NSW, up to SEQ, on sandy soils near the coast
USE FOR : Coastal and exposed locations, cottage gardens, native and wildlife gardens, mammal shelter, bank binding and erosion control. Excellent pollinator attractor.
CLIMATE : Frost tolerant, copes with wind and rain, reasonably humidity tolerant to SE QLD climates.
PLANTING : Grows in sandy soil in the wild, happy in most free-draining soils in brightly lit or full sun locations.
CARE : Prune after flowering to shape the plant, and encourage flowering next year.
MATURE HEIGHT & WIDTH : 1.5-3m H x 2-4m W.
YOUR PLANTS : These are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide.
