Ligustrum ovalifolium - green privet
This tall wide fast-growing hedging plant is the all-green sibling to the popular golden privet.
It's a neat evergreen cold-hardy privacy screen, if regularly clipped, and a mass of white scented blossoms if left to grow.
This privet is super-hardy, will grow in clay soil, and makes a great windbreak in exposed sites, and noise baffle on busy roads.
Green privet is a welcome wildlife shelter bush, a valuable foodsource for many pollinators; and the berries that follow the flowers feed birds through winter months.
