Richly coloured leaves create a beautiful backdrop for sprays of vibrant pink tassel-like flowers in spring and summer. Makes a pretty hedge, or eyecatching specimen shrub in the border. Plant it somewhere sheltered and in rich lime-free soil to help it really flourish.
Loropetalum chinense rubrum 'China Pink'APPEARANCE: Tall-growing dense shrub with oval leaves, rich pinky-brown year-round. Vibrant pink tassel flowers during spring and summer.
USE IN: Ideal for hedges and massed planting or for contrasting colour in home gardens.
LOCATION: Sunny or partly shaded position with morning or afternoon sun. Shelter from strong winds and exposed sites. Plant in a free draining soil rich in organic matter. A potting mix rich with peat moss or humus is ideal added at the time of planting.
CARE: Mulch and water well, prune after flowering and fertilise in Spring. Plant in a soil which is medium to acidic. Avoid lime. Regular clipping will encourage flowering stems
