Richly coloured leaves create a beautiful backdrop for sprays of vibrant pink tassel-like flowers in spring and summer. Makes a pretty hedge, or eyecatching specimen shrub in the border. Plant it somewhere sheltered and in rich lime-free soil to help it really flourish.

Loropetalum chinense rubrum 'China Pink'

APPEARANCE : Tall-growing dense shrub with oval leaves, rich pinky-brown year-round. Vibrant pink tassel flowers during spring and summer.
USE FOR : Ideal for hedges and massed planting or for contrasting colour in home gardens.
CLIMATE : Frost tolerant once established. Shelter from strong winds and exposed sites.
PLANTING : Sunny or partly shaded position with morning or afternoon sun.  Plant in a free draining soil rich in organic matter.  A potting mix rich with peat moss or humus is ideal added at the time of planting.
CARE : Mulch and water well, prune after flowering and fertilise in Spring. Plant in a soil which is medium to acidic. Avoid lime. Regular clipping will encourage flowering stems
