Tall wide starry magnolia tree, usually multi-trunked which makes for a beautiful specimen planting in the middle of a lawn or flower bed. Very large gently-fragrant ribbony white blooms are striking against blue spring skies. Large size pots - the images show the difference against our standard size tubestock pots.
DESCRIPTION: Decidous magnolia, small tree or large shrub with multiple trunks. White star-shaped blooms with a pale pink flush at the base appear before the leaves in spring. More vigorous than other star-flowered magnolias. USES: Perfect specimen tree, also suited to large containers. PLANTING: Sunny or partly shaded position with morning or afternoon sun. Shelter from strong winds, early frosts, and exposed sites. Completely frost hardy to -10C. Prefer rich acid to neutral loam with lots of organic matter. They don't like being relocated, so site carefully with their mature size in mind. CARE: Plant in well drained soil in a full sun to partly shaded position in the garden. Provide plenty of water during dry periods. HEIGHT & WIDTH: 7m H x 6m W. YOUR PLANTS: These plants are larger than our usual tubestock plants and will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 100mm high and 75 mm wide
