Native honey myrtle is a beautiful gnarly tree, a little large for smaller suburban gardens. Enter Little Nessie - only 2m all around, the perfect size for hedging and feature planting in even the smallest of suburban spaces. Fluffy pink-purple flowers tipped in gold, and afterwards rounded seedpods like a baby's rattle.
Fun fact, the botanic name nesophila comes from the Greek words for Love Island : ‘nesos’ for island and ‘phileo’ for love. This refers to its natural habitat in sandy coastal island regions - but Sophie Monk would love it too!
