Myoporums are super popular for cruisy groundcover - fast-growing, low maintenance, fast to flower. Pollinators love them and you will too as they spread to carpet the ground and cool the soil, keeping your weeds down too!

Mallee Carpet has broad long leaves, long like our fine-leaf and broad like our broad-leaf varieties, and abundant starry white flowers. It's frost tolerant, copes with coastal conditions, and is happy in most soils. Low and wide, it will tickle your ankles and cover your garden banks and slopes, quick smart.

Description

Myoporum parvifolium 'Mallee Carpet'

APPEARANCE : Dense very prostrate native ground-cover with soft green foliage, long like Fine Leaf and broad like Broad Leaf varieties. Masses of white flowers from late spring to early autumn.
USE FOR : Great as a ground-cover trailing down embankments or around established shrubs, helping to control weeds in hard to reach places. Attracts pollinators.
PLANTING : Prefers a full sun position. Plant in free draining soil rich in organic matter.
CARE : This Myoporum is fast growing, mulch and water well until established. Prune yearly to encourage new growth and flowering. Feed with a controlled release native fertiliser once a year.
HEIGHT & WIDTH : 110-15 cm x 2-3m.
