Showy and eyecatching, this native tropical tree makes a dramatic pairing with red poinciana and purple jacaranda. If you go to Mumbai you might see a road planted in alternate red and yellow poincianas!

A familiar sight in many tropical regions, this tree also has heaps of common names - yellow poinciana, copperpods, yellow flame tree, golden flamboyant  - testament to how popular it is across the southern hemisphere.
