Neat dark NZ flax, chocolate-grey colour is attractive planted with silver foliage plants or burnt orange flowers. Striking in pots and as a feature accent plant also. Resilient and hardy once established.

APPEARANCE : Sword-leaf rosette plant in dark chocolate tones.
USE FOR : Accent plant, mixed garden beds, containers.
CLIMATE : Tolerates frost once established.
PLANTING : Super hardy and suited to most soil types. Plant in a partially shady location in free draining soil. If planting in an exposed location, avoid the hot afternoon sun. Apply mulch and water regularly during the first 12 weeks until the plant is established. Provide additional water during extended dry periods. We recommend planting in well drained soil as flax can be prone to stem rot in boggy or clay soil.
CARE : Easy care plant, simply remove old foliage, apply mulch and fertilise yearly with a slow release fertiliser or well composted manure.
