Phormium tenax 'Surfer Boy'
DESCRIPTION: New Zealand flax, compact and upright with a slightly twisty-curvy bend to the long slender bronze-green leaves.
USES: Plant as a striking feature in coastal gardens. Suited to large containers.
PLANTING: Plant in part shade-full sun in most soil types, most locations. Apply mulch and water regularly during the first 12 weeks until the plant is established. Provide additional water during extended dry periods. We recommend planting in well drained soil as flax can be prone to stem rot in boggy or clay soil.
CARE: Easy care plant, simply remove old foliage, apply mulch and fertilise yearly with a slow release fertiliser or well composted manure.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: 0.7 m H x 0.7 m W.
YOUR PLANTS: These plants are tube-stock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The average size of your plants will be 15 -25 cm including the pot height of 80mm high and 42 mm wide.
