Relaxed, dare we say sprawling, cottage garden favourite covered with bee-friendly pink flowers in summer and autumn. Super easy-going, no worries or dramas.
Its less-ornamental relatives have been grown by wise women in the villages of the world for centuries, to cure everything from boils to joint pain to diphtheria.
Prunella will grow in most moist soils, even wet ones, and roots along its stems to form a mat of flowers. If it gets a bit enthusiastic it's easy enough to pull up the stray stems.
