Ornamental fern with variegated ribbon-like foliage, light in the centre with deep green edges. Plant in cool shaded rock gardens or indoors for best results.

Description

Pteris cretica albolineata - Cretan brake fern

APPEARANCE : Decorative fern with variegated ribbon-like foliage. Perfect indoors or in a shaded location in the garden.
USE IN: Rock gardens as a border or for creating depth using layers in under planting. Suited to containers, terrariums and indoor gardens.
PLANTING: Plant carefully ensuring the crown of the fern is above the soil line. Ensure the growing medium is well drained to avoid wet feet. Remove old fronds to keep plants looking fresh and avoid disease. Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks.
CARE: Keep moist during dry periods. Ferns thrive in humid conditions. Apply a slow release fertiliser during spring and a liquid fertiliser every 4 weeks during the warmer months, take care to dilute your solution to half the recommended dose to avoid burn. Re-pot container plants only if they are outgrowing their pots.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: up to 0.8m H x 0.6m W.
