Large deep orange flavourful pumpkins with attractive speckled green-gold skins. Good for storing, and for growing in poor soils as nutrient requirements are low. When your pumpkins start to grow, keep their bottoms dry with straw or a small paver to raise them off wet soil.
DESCRIPTION: Fast growing groundcover vine producing large speckled green-and-gold pumpkins with dense flavourful orange flesh. Good in poor soils as don't require many nutrients. PLANTING: Spring-Summer and Winter in warmer areas. Sow seeds directly into their final position or into seedling trays in groups of 2-3. Thin to two seedlings and transplant when seedlings are easily handled, approx 10cm. Plant in a full sun location in free draining soil. For best results prepare soil by digging through well composted manure. USE IN: Pumpkin compliments both sweet (Pumpkin Pie & Scones) and savory dishes (Spiced Soup, Mixed Roast Veg & Damper) and can be stored in a cool dark spot for up to 6 months. CARE: Water seedlings daily until established and follow up with regular water especially during dry periods. Apply liquid fertiliser regularly for best results. Harvest when vines begin to die back.
