Saxifraga x arendsii Alpino™ Red - mossy saxifrage, rockfoil
APPEARANCE: Small, low-growing, flowering plant which forms a mounded mat of small evergreen leaves. Small cup-shaped flowers appear in abundance in spring; they open in deepest red and gently fade to deep pink.USE FOR: Rockeries, pots, alpine gardens, roof gardens, windowboxes, shade borders.
PLANTING: Perfoms well in shade especially in hot dry locations; will grow in full sun in cooler climates and with sufficient water. Mulch after planting to retain moisture and regulate soil temperatures as the young plant establishes. Extremely cold-hardy. Does not like hot humid tropical climates so not one for FNQ but fine for SEQ.
CARE: An application of a slow release fertiliser in spring will help keep the plant healthy.
HEIGHT & WIDTH : 20 cm H x 30 cm W.
YOUR PLANTS : These are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide.
You can see an example in the image gallery.
