The all-green makinoi is adorably cute, like a tiny vegetable pet; it's a no-fuss houseplant, stylish urban container plant, neat dry-terrarium plant, and evergreen groundcover for waterwise gardens.
This lovely variegated sibling has all that AND pretty pale green leaves edged neatly in white, to brighten your lounge room or rockery.

APPEARANCE : Low-growing carpeting succulent, pale green leaves with cream-white edges to each leaf; new shoots may be entirely cream-white Leaves form rosettes along the stems. Yellow starry flowers in summer-autumn that attract beneficial pollinators, appear on mature plants.USE FOR : Rockeries, roof gardens, waterwise beds, coastal gardens. Squeezes into small spaces, spreads to provide groundcover in tough locations. Roots along the stems so if you want more of it, encourage it to lay on the soil; and if you don't, pull it up or mulch underneath with stone chips.
PLANTING : Plant in free-draining gritty soil in bright sunlight. Will grow in shade but leaf colour may not be as strong. Very happy in rocky sandy soils and exposed locations. Totally if the plant softens, droops, or wrinkles, especially in extended periods of heat.
