Syzygium Aussie Southern - lilly pilly
Very fast-growing, columnar lilly pilly, excellent for narrow spaces and thin hedges. Ideal privacy screening and specimen plant with richly coloured glossy foliage. Hardy once established. White flowers, pink berries. Grows to 5m if unclipped.
Syzygium australe 'Aussie Southern'APPEARANCE : Very tall slender hedging plant with compact tightly growing glossy foliage. Masses of small white tufted flowers during summer followed by bright pink-red edible fruit. Psyllid-resistant.
USE FOR : Excellent for hedging, shaping, screening and as a pot specimen.
CLIMATE : Tough and will tolerate light frosts.
PLANTING : Tolerates most positions and conditions but would benefit with mulching and fertilising at the time of planting in a well drained soil. Ideal in full sun.
CARE : Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Prune regularly to encourage bushiness.
HEIGHT & WIDTH : 5m H x 2m W.
