Waratah - Telopea speciosissima
DESCRIPTION: Easy care evergreen native with a compact habit and brilliant crimson flowers early spring. Gorgeous cut flower to enjoy indoors!
USES: Feature planting and screening. Needs good drainage. Suited to container planting in locations where garden soil isn't free draining.
PLANTING: Plant in free draining soil in a partly shaded location, dappled sunlight is perfect. Mulch after planting to retain moisture and regulate soil temperatures as the young plant establishes. Tolerates frost and drought once established.
CARE: Prune to approx 1 metre once flowering has finished, follow with an application of a native slow release fertiliser.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: 3-4 m H x 2 m W.
YOUR PLANTS: These are tube-stock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The average size of your plants will be 15 -25 cm in height including the pot height of 80 mm x 42 mm wide.
