T fasciculata grows enthusiastically in Florida so it should suit the subtropical humid climates of Australia very well. Usually flowering in traffic-light shades of half-half red-yellow or orange-lime, this selection has more yellow flowers, and often the foliage takes on shades of wine and plum.

Tillandsia fasciculata yellow - airplant

APPEARANCE :  From Central America, variable in appearance. A rosette of slender all-green to silver-green leaves, in a grass-like fountain, produces a flowering stem topped by an oval herringbone flower; this selection will have predominately yellow flowers. The true purple flowers, tiny tubular petals, emerge from between the herringbone segments. Flowering stems sometimes produce branched tips with multiple flowerheads.
USE FOR :  Tropical gardens or indoors. Attach plants to a piece of driftwood for a natural centrepiece. Hanging air plants in glass terrariums allows for plenty of air circulation and makes an attractive display.
PLANTING: . A warm environment with dappled shade and regular misting will help this airplant feel at home. Air plants love well lit areas with moderate humidity and plenty of air circulation. Avoid direct sunlight
CARE: Spritz plants with a hand sprayer daily during the warmer months then weekly through winter. Plants that are exposed to dry conditions such as heaters and air conditioners will need a good weekly soaking. Not sure if you need to soak your plants? Check to see if the leaves are beginning to curl, this is the first sign that the plant need water.  Sit plants in water for 2-3 hours or overnight. Mature happy plants will often clump into large specimens with multiple pups – mini-plants at the base - which you can leave in place or pot up for friends
HEIGHT & WIDTH:  usually 30-40cm H mature - Plants are variable in size
YOUR PLANTS : These are tubestock-sized plants supplied bare-root, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. You can see an example in the image gallery
