The other name for this airy native broom is golden spray, which gives you an idea of the sunny cascades of flowers you can expect from the fast-growing shrub-tree.

You'll find it growing across Australia in swampy acid soils from south west WA to coastal QLD. It shoots up fast, with slender weeping stems, giving you colour in spring and summer while you wait for slower plants to catch up.

APPEARANCE : Evergreen arching shrub, very variable in size, with slender almost-leafless stems, and yellow pea flowers in spring through summer. Fast growing, Short-lived to about ten years
USE FOR :  cottage gardens, native gardens, wet soils, pond and creek banks. Prune to a shrub or grow as a single-trunk tree
CLIMATE : Tolerates light frost, humidity
PLANTING : Plant in moist acid to neutral pH soils in full sun to part shade. Autumn is perfect panting time. In areas of winter frost, mulch well in winter and site in a sheltered location
CARE: Mulch and water well, trim after flowering to promote compact growth and flowering. Feed with a controlled release fertiliser three times a year, and boost feeding with seaweed solution if leaves become yellow on very poor soils.
