Vigorous groundcover for sunny and shady places, roots along the stems to form spreading mats. It can rampage like Roy Slaven if it likes its situation, but it's not difficult to pull out any stray stems. Use it like an unscented frost-hardy star jasmine.
Vinca minor Alba - white periwinkle

DESCRIPTION: Lowgrowing vigorous groundcover, dark green oval leaves and white five-petalled open flowers. Roots along its stems to form wide mats.
USES: Covering large areas of ground under shrubs, down embankments and slopes, in deep shade. Flowers best in sun but will flower in shade.
CARE: Mulch and keep watered until established. Chop it back to keep it in check if it starts to grow too wide.
PLANTING: Tolerates most positions and conditions except very dry soil; benefits from mulching and fertilising at the time of planting to help it etablish.  Very cold hardy.
