Warm and toasty shades with a sweet spicy fragrance to match. Biennial or annual or perennial depending on climate. May self seed if it's happy. Likes well-drained soil - will grow in wall cracks in cooler climates.
DESCRIPTION: Upright growing annual-biennial-perennial, slender stems of open flowers in shades of orange, gold and brown. Spicy-sweet fragrance. PLANTING: Late summer-autumn for winter-spring flowers. Sow seeds into seed raising mix or direct into their final position, press into soil and keep moist. Thin seedlings if they become crowded & replant elsewhere in the garden. When plants reach approx 7-10 cm, nip the tips out to encourage more branches. Remove spent flowers to keep them flowering longer. Plant in free draining alkaline to neutral soil in sun for best flowering. CARE: Water seedlings regularly until established and continue to provide water especially during dry spells. Mulch plants to keep the shallow roots cool in summer. For an extra long flowering season, remove spent blooms and feed with liquid fertiliser;
