Easy to grow, frugal with water - this aloe is a lovely indoor plant, and a handsome addition to a waterwise garden.

The pale green and silvery-white patterned leaves are beautiful all year round, and happy mature plants will shoot up long slender spires of coral-orange bell flowers tipped with buttery yellow, as a bonus

Aloe descoingsii x calcairophylla x bellatula x rauhii 'Quicksilver'

APPEARANCE : Easy care succulent with thick juicy pointed leaves, toothed along the edges, growing in a rosette. Leaf colour is light green base, covered in paler stripes that make the leaves appear silvery-white. Flowers are coral with yellow tips and appear on even very young plants.
USE FOR : Xeriscaping, dry gardens, coastal gardens, as a dramatic accent plant or in a large container.
CLIMATE : Protect plants from hard frost.
PLANTING : Plant in free draining soil in pots or out in the garden, taking care to keep the crown above the soil. Suited to full sun and part shade.
CARE : Aloe plants require little water. Weekly watering during the warmer months will keep plants looking lush. Keep it drier during the winter to avoid rotting the crown of the plant. Fertilise during spring with an organic liquid feed mixed at half rate. If potted plants become crowded as pups develop, remove young plants and share with neighbours or re-pot.
