Curcuma alismatifolia 'Thai Beauty Pink' - ornamental ginger

APPEARANCE : Exotic flowering ginger also known as Siam tulip for its similar-shaped flowers. The hot pink flowers may last up to 2 months on the plant and have an extended vase life making them perfect for creating a cheery tropical vibe indoors.
USE FOR : Ideal for tropical style gardens, pots and underplanting in areas of dappled light. Potted plants may be taken indoors for short periods, try rotating plants where possible so each gets plenty of exposure to sunlight.
CLIMATE : Protect from wind and frost.
PLANTING : Plant in free draining soil in a sunny-partly shaded location in a sheltered position in the garden.
CARE: Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Water regularly during dry periods. Plants will die back during winter but don't be tempted to remove untidy leaves until they are completely brown, the nutrients from the leaves are drawn back into the rhizome for next season. At the first sign of new shoots appearing apply liquid fertiliser. Come summer your ginger will be bursting with vibrant leaves and flowers again.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: Up to 0.5m H x 0.5m W.
YOUR PLANTS : These are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide.
You can see an example in the image gallery.
