Rhaphiolepis indica intermedia - Indian hawthorn

DESCRIPTION: Hardy evergreen shrub with dense leathery foliage. Mildly perfumed clusters of small white flowers through summer.
USE IN: Suited to cottage gardens, coastal planting and hedging. Ideal for container and patio planting and even as a bonsai specimen.
PLANTING: Plant in a full sun to partly shaded position in the garden. Mulch and water well regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Suited to most climates excluding extreme hot and dry. Tolerates moderate frost once established.
CARE: Prune after flowering to encourage dense growth and flowering. Fertilise using a slow release fertiliser during spring.
