There's always more demand than supply when it comes to our Alocasias and we have a sneaky feeling this one is no exception! It's got deep green colour, long ripply leaves, dark-black stems, and a bold brooding style that never goes out of fashion. Gorgeous.

Alocasia lauterbachiana - elephant's ear

APPEARANCE : Tropical rainforest foliage plant with very long green arrow-shaped leaves, rippled along the margins, strongly veined, with darker green-gunmetal-purple undersides. Stems are very dark purple, almost black in colour.
USES: Indoor feature plant - show it off in your best pot.
PLANTING:  At least half a day of good light, but not direct hot sun. The leaves will droop if it's too dark, or if it's dry. It may occasionally drip harmless sap so place it on tile or other surface you can clean. Needs a steady humid climate between 10-30C, no cold, and no excessive heat.
CARE: Water little and often so the compost is just moist but not soggy. Mist it regularly if your climate is not naturally humid. Turn the plant every month or so if you are growing it indoors so it stays symmetrical.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: 50 - 75cm H x 80cm W.
YOUR PLANTS: These plants are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide. May be supplied as 'plugs', slightly smaller than our usual tubestock but with a healthy root system ready for planting or potting on.
