Watch your plant babies turn from bright green to dark green, and develop the distinctive leaf veining as they grow

Alocasia lowii 'Morocco' - elephant's ear

APPEARANCE : Tropical rainforest foliage plant with large dark green arrow-shaped leaves with prominent white veins, wine-coloured underneath, on pink stems. The leaf outline is usually smooth on the edge, rather than strongly indented.
USE FOR : Indoor feature plant, or plant into your tropical garden where it can grow to full potential.
PLANTING : Really good rich moist free-draining loam. At least half a day of good light, but not direct sun. It may occasionally drip harmless sap so place it on tile or other surface you can clean.
CARE : Ideally, recreate a tropical rainforest - steamy and hot and not too sunny. Water little and often so the compost is moist but not soggy. Mist it regularly if your climate is not naturally humid. Turn the plant every month or so if you are growing it indoors so it stays symmetrical. Keep it warm and sheltered. Plants often have a dormant period in winter; reduce watering when this occurs.
HEIGHT & WIDTH :  0.5 - 1 m H x 80 cm W.
YOUR PLANTS : These plants are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide. May be supplied as 'plugs', shipped inside plastic pots for protection. These are slightly smaller than our usual tubestock, with a healthy root system ready for planting or potting on.
