Brunfelsia Sweet & Petite - yesterday today tomorrow
Living up to its name, it is sweet-scented and petite in size, topping out at around a metre around and slender in profile. Great if you want a low hedge or feature shrub but hate the clipping that goes with maintaining it!
Flowers in shades of purple, lilac and white will cover a happy bush spring through to autumn.
Brunfelsia latifolia 'Sweet & Petite' - yesterday today and tomorrow
APPEARANCE : Compact narrow evergreen to around 1m, bright green leaves, open flowers that start out purple, mature to lilac and fade to white.
USE FOR : Great for specimen planting in small gardens, low hedging, and small enough to plant in a patio tub to appreciate the scent.
PLANTING : Site in a sunny frost-free spot where it can get regular rainfall or irrigation for best results. Mulch and water well.
CARE : Warm climates and regular watering are preferred by this plant but worth a go in sheltered sites further south. Suited to a full sun position in the garden. Prune after flowering to maintain form and encourage a full flush of flowers next season. Fertilise during spring with a slow release fertiliser.
HEIGHT & WIDTH : 1 m H x 0.8 m W.
YOUR PLANTS : These are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide.
