APPEARANCE : Compact subtropical flowering shrub. Masses of large rich purple blooms during autumn, opening from pink-red buds.ORIGIN : Brazil
USE FOR : In groups as a mass display of colour. Small growing variety suited to feature planting and hedges. Ideal size for containers.
CLIMATE : Prefers warm climates and loves the humidity of the east coast. Frost tender.
PLANTING : Full sun to part shade. Plant in a free draining soil rich in organic matter. A potting mix rich with peat moss or humus is ideal.
CARE : Mulch and water well, prune as needed to shape or promote new growth.
MATURE HEIGHT & WIDTH: 1m H x 1m W in containers, poorer soils, and cooler locations where winter growth is reduced; can reach 2-3m in optimal subtropical conditions.
YOUR PLANTS : These are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide.
