Nepenthes afflesiana x sibuyanensis 'Suki' - pitcher plant DESCRIPTION: Carnivorous epiphytic plant (grows in trees), forming a large arching rosette of apple-green glossy leaves which develop into pouchy tubes at the end filled with bug-dissolving enzymes. Suki has large, short, fat, dark purple pitchers with a lime green rim; some pitchers are almost all purple and some are more freckled on green usually depending on light levels. Young leaves are attractive bronzy-brown. USES: Interesting and unusual indoor plant, or outdoors in tropical zones. PLANTING: An orchid mix is ideal, with chunks of bark, sphagnum moss or coir to let air to the roots and drain away water fast. CARE: Loves it humid and warm, definitely above 10C at night. Mist them regularly to keep them happy, and water often - Suki likes to be on the damp or even wet side. A mature plant will need a pick-me-up, feed with diluted orchid feed. If your plant isn't producing pitchers give it more light and humidity. HEIGHT & WIDTH: 0.5 m H PLEASE NOTE: These are tubestock plants with a healthy young root system and will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80 mm x 42 mm wide. Your plants may be supplied as 'plugs', slightly smaller than our usual tubestock but with a healthy root system ready for planting or potting on.
