Show plants in pots, close up of curls: Cultivar413; Large hanging plant indoors: Laura Blanchard cropped to size.
Tillandsia intermedia x streptophylla 'Curly Slim' - air plant
APPEARANCE : A tall, slim, very curly variety of air plant created by Dr Mark Dimmitt. Pale grey-green spiralling foliage which coils back on itself into ringlets as it grows. Long slender warm-pink branching flower stems appear on happy mature plants.
USE FOR: Attach plants to a piece of driftwood or branch for a natural centrepiece. Hang plants in a glass terrarium to allow for plenty of air circulation and make an attractive display. Will even grow upside down.
PLANTING: Air plants love well lit areas with humidity and plenty of air circulation. Avoid direct sunlight
CARE: Spritz plants with a hand sprayer daily during the warmer months unless in high humidity; then weekly through winter. Give plants a good dunking once a month or so for a couple of hours and allow to drain. Older plants may produce offsets at the base or along the stem which can be left to create an interesting large branching plant; or replanted and grown on individually.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: 60 cm H x 60 cm W.
YOUR PLANTS : These are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide.
You can see an example in the image gallery.
