This classic indoor fern grows remarkably well outside in a sheltered humid spot. A fountain of long lime green fishbone fronds will add colour and life to your home, office, or shady nook in the garden. Likes a dryish root and a moist leaf - plant into the crack of a wall on the shady south side and watch it make itself at home. Blue Bell is one of the most popular forms of Boston fern.

DESCRIPTION: Fast growing, elegant arching fronds with slender pale green leaflets.USE IN: Tropical garden settings as a border or for creating depth using layers in under planting. Suited to containers and indoor gardens.
PLANTING: Plant carefully ensuring the crown of the fern is above the soil line. Remove old fronds to keep plants looking fresh and avoid disease. Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks.
CARE: Protect from frost and keep moist during dry periods. Water every second day during dry periods. Ferns thrive in humid conditions. Apply a slow release fertiliser during spring and a liquid based fertiliser every 4 weeks during the warmer months, take care to dilute your solution to half the recommended dose to avoid burn. Re-pot every 2 - 3 years to keep soil fresh and full of nutrients. The best time to pot is in the cooler months when the plant is dormant.
