Clerodendrum ugandense (now Rotheca myricoides) - blue butterfly bush

DESCRIPTION: Rambling open airy shrub with sky blue flowers on glossy green foliage. Flowers from spring to summer.
USE IN: Feature shrub, in mixed borders, informal hedging.
LOCATION: Prefers a full sun position for maximum flowering though will tolerate part shade. Plant in free draining soil rich in organic matter.
CARE: Mulch and water well until established.Give it a good clip after flowering to keep it bushy and encourage new growth. Feed with a controlled release fertiliser twice yearly. Water more frequently during dry summer heat. Protect from frost.
