Tibouchina Alstonville
Rich purple blooms on an evergreen tree to 5m. impressive in full bloom - which often happens in winter as well as the warmer months in our Sunshine Coast nursery.
Quick to establish, especially from our tubestock. We grow hedges of this in the nursery and it responds very well to hard pruning.

APPEARANCE : Rich dark purple blooms appear during warmer months on a small evergreen tree - although our nursery plants are often in flower in winter too. Leaves are longer and more slender than other varieties.
ORIGIN : Brazil
USE FOR : Specimen and feature tree which establishes quickly. Large flowering hedge. Can be hard pruned if necessary
CLIMATE : Prefers warm climates and loves the humidity of the east coast. Frost tender.
PLANTING : Plant in well drained soil in full sun.
CARE : Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Prune regularly when young to promote dense growth habit and fertilise with a slow release fertiliser in spring.
MATURE HEIGHT & WIDTH : 4 - 5 m H x 4 m W.
YOUR PLANTS : These are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide.
