Dodonaea viscosa - native hop bush
DESCRIPTION: Slender spoon shaped leaves, densely growing; clusters of papery wine-red flower-like fruits which have richer colour in brighter light.
USES: Salt, drought, and pollution resistant, excellent soil erosion control, dune stabiliser, revegetation pioneer plant, windbreak hedge.
PLANTING:Full sun in almost any soil. Drought tolerant once established.
CARE: Mulch and water well until established. Feed with a slow release native fertiliser during spring - Dodonaea can be phosphorus-sensitive so the P ratio of the fertiliser needs to be under 3%.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: 1-3m H x 1-2m W.
