Description

Globba winitii 'Red Dragon' - ginger orchid, orchid ginger
APPEARANCE: Small tropical plant from Indonesia and Thailand, related to the edible gingers. Leaves are typical of the ginger family; flowers are long delicate strands of purple broad petals and long proboscis-like yellow petals
USE FOR : Tropical gardens in shade; underplanting; indoors as a houseplant.
PLANTING: Globba likes it moist and warm and shady. They often flower happily indoors. Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks.
CARE: For longest flowering and lush new growth provide additional water during dry periods and feed with a diluted liquid fertiliser monthly.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: 50cm H x 30cm W.
