Globba winitii 'Red Dragon' - ginger orchid DESCRIPTION: Small tropical plant from Indonesia and Thailand. Leaves are typical of the ginger family; flowers are long delicate strands of purple broad petals and long proboscis-like yellow petals USE IN: Tropical gardens in shade; underplanting; indoors as a houseplant. PLANTING: Globba likes it moist and warm and shady. They often flower happily indoors. Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks.
