Choose this beautiful Pittosporum for the striking contrast between the small shiny silvery leaves and the dark chocolate-brown stems. Tall and bushy, very branching, dense but not heavy, an ideal privacy screen or refuge for wintering birds.
Pittosporum tenuifolium 'Mean Screen'
APPEARANCE : Large, fast-growing hedging plant, with small glossy silver-green leaves on very dark, almost black stems. Naturally dense and bushy, very branching.USE FOR : Hedges, privacy screens, topiary, wildlife gardens.
PLANTING : Plant in well drained soil, rich with humus in full sun or part shade.
CARE: Fertilise with a slow release fertiliser in spring and again in autumn. Prune to maintain shape and compact growth. Will regrow after a hard prune if necessary. Water frequently until plant is established, check for moisture during dry spells. Will survive a light frost.
