Michelia figo - port wine magnoliaAPPEARANCE: Fruity-scented small ivory-purple cup-shaped flowers in spring and summer. This medium sized shrub has glossy leaves tight in habit and evergreen. Leaves are slender and taper to a point.
USE FOR: Plant where the scented flowers can be enjoyed - near a patio or seating area. Can be clipped to a hedge or be used as a low screen. Ideal for many situations and hardy for most areas.
CLIMATE : Will come through an overnight frost once established
PLANTING: Tolerates most positions and conditions. Mulch and fertilise at the time of planting, in a well drained soil. Ideal in full sun and partial shade.
