Taller than figo, Coco has beautifully-scented creamy flowers, edged and shaded in burgundy, through spring and summer.
Glossy leaves, tight in habit and evergreen, Coco makes an excellent hedge to 3m in subtropical areas. Beneficial insects love them.

Michelia 'Coco'
APPEARANCE : Sometimes called the coconut magnolia, the scented small cream flowers, in spring and summer are slightly larger than M. figo, as are the leaves. This medium sized shrub has glossy evergreen leaves and a tight growth habit.
USE FOR : Plant in an area where the scented flowers can be enjoyed. Suited to containers. Can be clipped to a hedge or be used as a low screen. Beneficial insects love Coco, which brings in the native birds.
CARE : Clip back to shape after flowering to promote dense growth and more prolific flowering next season.
PLANTING : Tolerates most positions and conditions but would benefit with mulching and fertilising at the time of planting in a well drained soil. Ideal in full sun and partial shade.
