Banksia marginata - silver banksia

APPEARANCE : Very variable small tree or large shrub, depending on location, light and water availability. Creamy new flowers mature to golden yellow; distinctive slender leaves are bright silver-white beneath. Found in the wild all over the southern states.
USE FOR: This adaptable Banksia forms an excellent screen plant and is able to tolerate frost and salt spray. Birds adore these plants and kept busy for ages.  Seed pods are decorative, as are the flowers.
CLIMATE : Frost tolerant, drought tolerant once established
PLANTING: Plant in a well drained soil; this banksia can tolerate most pH types.
CARE:Feed with a slow release native fertiliser during spring - Banksia ericifolia is phosphorus-sensitive so the P ratio of the fertiliser needs to be under 3%.
HEIGHT & WIDTH:usually 5-8m H x 3m W.
YOUR PLANTS : These are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide.
