Banksia Red Rover gives you bigger flowers, darker orange-red colour, brighter foliage, and a long flowering season. The growth habit is airy and open too, an impressive bush with a domed outline, letting you see those super-long blooms.

Banksia ericifolia 'Red Rover' - heath banksia

APPEARANCE : Native shrub with fine heathery foliage and bronze-red cylindrical flowers in autumn and winter. Red Rover has very deep red-terracotta cylindrical flowers up to 25cm long, an open habit, and a brighter leaf colour than the species form.
USE FOR : This adaptable Banksia forms an excellent screen plant and is able to tolerate frost and salt spray. Birds adore these plants and kept busy for ages.  Seed pods are decorative, as are the flowers.
PLANTING : Plant in a well drain sandy to sandy loam soil but not alkaline.
CARE :Feed with a slow release native fertiliser during spring - Banksia ericifolia is phosphorus-sensitive so the P ratio of the fertiliser needs to be under 3%.
HEIGHT & WIDTH : 1.8 - 2m H x 1.8 - 2m W.
