Clivia miniata 'Pastel'
DESCRIPTION: Strappy leaf evergreen clumping plant suited to shaded areas of the garden. Flowers late winter and early spring in clusters of gentle pastel peach-apricot trumpet-shaped flowers held high above the foliage, followed by red cherry-like seedpods. Clivias originate from the warm climate of Southern Africa, making them perfect for our Australian climate. Pastel clivia are difficult to breed, and consequently can be rare and expensive. The colour will be variable but soft peach-salmon-butter shades will be likely.PLANTING: Plant in a shaded position in the garden, if you live in a cooler climate, plant in a pot and enjoy on a shaded balcony.
CARE: Prune spent flowers to encourage dense growth habit and continued flowering. Apply less water during the cooler months, this is known to encourage more flowering in spring. Reapply mulch and apply a liquid fertiliser at half the regular strength each spring. Protect from harsh sunlight and frost. Lift and divide every 3-4 years or when clumps become large.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: 0.5-1 m H x 0.6 m W.
YOUR PLANTS: These are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide.
