Epacris impressa white - common heath
Pretty native shrub with fine foliage and strings of hanging bell flowers in pure white, blooming right through winter when we - and the honeyeaters and eastern spinebills - need it most. A lovely addition to the native or wildlife garden.

DESCRIPTION: Stiff branching open shrub with tiny dark leaves and bell-shaped nectar-rich white flowers from autumn to spring. Found in the wild almost all over the south east from Brisbane to Hobart to Adelaide
USE IN: Native gardens, mixed beds, wildlife gardens.
LOCATION: Full sun to part shade; flowers for longer with some protection from hot sun. It likes a gravelly free-draining soil with regular water. Mulch and water on a regular basis, until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Frost tolerant.
CARE: Prune after flowering to shape and encourage fresh growth. Fertilise using a slow release fertiliser for natives after flowering to encourage healthy growth. Add a winter mulch to plants in exposed locations.
