Tropical looks in a frost-hardy shrub! This tough hibiscus with glowing purple-blue flowers is deciduous and looks like sticks until early summer, when it bursts into lush leaf and vibrant flower ready to party until winter. Ours is a semi-double form for added gorgeousness.

Hibiscus syriacus 'Blue Bird'

APPEARANCE : Big bushy deciduous hibiscus with large purple-blue open flowers and apple-green leaves. The colour will appear pinker in full sun
USE IN: Informal hedges, feature planting, in large pots. 
CLIMATE: Frost-hardy to -10C.
PLANTING : Tolerates most well-drained soils. Flowers better in a sunny or part-sunny spot.  
CARE: Mulch and water well in dry periods, fertilise before flowering in late spring.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: 2.5m H x 2m W.
