Ozothamnus diotophyllus x diosmifolius 'Colour Surprise' - rice flower
APPEARANCE : Evergreen native shrub with fine slender foliage and clusters of spring flowers shaped like a portobello mushroom. Maroon buds open to pink flowers which fade to yellow so each flowerhead has a range of shades.
USE FOR : Cottage style gardens, mixed borders, native gardens, verges and banks, as low informal hedge.
PLANTING : Plant in a full sun to partly shaded position in the garden in free draining soil. Drought tolerant. Avoid over watering.
CARE: Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Tolerates moderate frost and salt soil. Trim after flowering and fertilise using a native slow release fertiliser.
