Silver Sensation makes a fantastic all-native Christmas tree, and the rest of the year those silver-green good looks and silky-soft stems will make your garden gorgeous. It likes dry summers, lots of light, very free-draining conditions; it will stand up to coastal salty winds and sandy soil so if you're on the south coast it's a perfect feature shrub or even privacy screen.

Adenanthos sericeus 'Silver Sensation' - woolly bush

APPEARANCE :  Silver Sensation is a more compact, more silvery form of the WA native shrub, a little more slow-growing. Soft lime-grey hair-like leaves cover tall upright stems. Prefers a Mediterranean climate with dry summers, so better suited to southern states.
USES: Mixed garden planting, feature shrubs, native and coastal gardens, large pots and containers, native christmas trees! Valued in the floristry trade so grow it for cutting and using in arrangements.
PLANTING: Full sun to part shade in well-drained sandy or gravelly soils with neutral to low acid pH. In the wild it grows on sandy granite.
CARE: Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established. Very lightly prune if you need to shape it; feed with low-phosphorus native plant food.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: 1 - 5 m H x 1 - 1.5 m W.
YOUR PLANTS: These plants are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide.
