High-fashion tropical foliage plant with shiny, silver-grey leaves, black stripes and red stems. Slightly taller than the dwarf watermelon but still compact in size, this plant will add a definite wow factor to your home.

Peperomia turboensis - red watermelon

APPEARANCE : Tropical foliage plant with heart shaped, silvery-grey foliage with wide, sparkly, black stripes reminiscent of a watermelon. The stems and undersides of the leaves are red, giving the plant its name.
USE FOR : Ideal container plant for a shaded patio or brightly lit room indoors. Understory shade planting in tropical gardens, amid denser ground covers.
PLANTING : Plant in a bright spot with indirect sunlight or dappled shade. Enjoys warm air and regular light watering with rainwater or filtered water for best results. It's semi-succulent so avoid overwatering and too much humidity.
CARE: Water regularly during the first 12 weeks and regularly once established. Mist regularly if air humidity is low. Apply a very diluted liquid feed every month for vibrant healthy foliage.
HEIGHT:  25 cm H
YOUR PLANTS : These plants are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide. May be supplied as 'plugs', slightly smaller than our usual tubestock but with a healthy root system ready for planting or potting on. You can see an example in the image gallery
