Sedums are fantastic plants for waterwise gardens as their succulent leaves hang onto even the tiniest bit of moisture. They're also unsurpassed as wildlife plants for attracting a whole range of beneficial insects to their starry clusters of flowers. As if that weren't enough, they thrive in sun, are frost hardy enough to survive a nuclear winter, and almost zero maintenance. Plant lots.

Sedum telephium, Hylotelephium telephium 'Thundercloud' - sedum

APPEARANCE: Mounded succulent, with a perfectly-round globe of silver-green large leaves. The surface is covered with clusters of pinkish-white star-shaped flowers in summer. Taxonomists have decided to rename some of the easy-to-spell Sedum family as the tongue-twisting Hylotelephium family. We hope this doesn't catch on as a trend.
USE FOR: Rockeries, roof gardens, waterwise beds, coastal gardens, pots, wildlife gardens. Dry poor soils where little else thrives.
PLANTING : Plant in free-draining soil in bright sunlight. Very happy in rocky sandy soils and exposed locations; doesn't like wet soils or clay. Totally cold hardy.
CARE: Almost none required. Snip off old flowerheads in winter if you want to tidy the appearance.
HEIGHT & WIDTH:  30 cm H x 30 cm W
YOUR PLANTS : These are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide.
You can see an example in the image gallery.
